Flooring and tile quantity planning

The calculator adds a waste allowance to the net floor area, divides by the area of one piece, rounds pieces up, and then rounds to whole boxes.

Example

A 3.6 m by 4.2 m room with 600 mm square tiles can be planned with a 10% waste allowance.

Good to know

Diagonal layouts, pattern matching, breakage, and irregular rooms may need a larger waste allowance.

Frequently asked questions

How should I choose a waste percentage?

Simple rectangular rooms often start around 5–10%, but cuts and patterns can increase it.

Why are boxes rounded up?

Products are sold in complete boxes, so the result must cover every required piece.
